This is where the new GRAU DATA product “Metadata Hub” comes in. With over 320 file formats, we cover a very wide range of formats and offer the customer a scalable, fully automatic software solution to be able to read out and analyze all extended metadata.
Metadata can provide important additional information that you cannot obtain through “normal” data entry. The problem lies in the fact that the data and thus the attached metadata are stored in a large number of different file systems. In large companies, many petabytes of data are managed in so-called NAS memories, such as Dell EMC Isilon or NetApp Filer. There are also many different file formats (text, JPEG, MP3, etc.). To get the metadata of e.g. If you want to analyze 1 billion files, for example, you need a very comprehensive and fully automated system. The efficient management of data and metadata plays an important role in big data environments. However, without metadata, data cannot be analyzed and / or organized efficiently.
The Metadata Hub is a newly developed, innovative software solution for analyzing huge amounts of metadata. We use intelligent crawlers to crawl through the large amounts of data at customers’ sites on the existing infrastructure. The metadata hub can harvests over 320 file formats and over 30,000 metadata tags. This large amount of extended metadata is written into a scalable database. The intuitive WebUI allows the user to analyze the large amount of metadata using several customizable search algorithms in order to provide the correct data for further processing, e.g. as part of an AI development.
